Military Official: Iran Close to Sustainable Security

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The deterrent power of Iran in various dimensions is well-established and the country is quite close to achieving sustainable security, the head of the Supreme Leader’s military affairs office said on Monday.

General Mohammad Shirazi made the comment while visiting a naval base of Islamic Revolution Gaurds Corps in Iran’s southeastern Chabahar port city, where he appreciated the IRGC Navy’s efforts in boosting the country’s defense capabilities.

“It is thanks to those efforts that the country’s deterrent power in various dimensions has been materialized and our country has approached a status that is quite close to sustainable security," He added.

Deputy Defense Minister for Coordination Brigadier General Nasrollah Ezzati said Thursday, September 26, that Iran's remarkable power of deterrence acts as a shield that protects the country from any foreign aggression.

The remarkable deterrent capabilities of the Islamic Republic "prevent any foreign aggression against the country," said Brigadier General Ezzati.

In relevant remarks, senior military adviser to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Major General Seyed Yahya Rahim Safavi, recently said that the Islamic Republic will never initiate a war, but at the same time noted that any potential act of aggression against Iran will face the country’s “unimaginable” might.

Also IRGC navy commander, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said on September 17 that IRGC has attained high deterrent capabilities, something even acknowledged by the enemy.

Fadavi had announced earlier that enemies and even world powers are aware of Iran's defense capability and power of deterrence and shy away from military confrontation with the IRGC naval forces in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
