MP Unveils New Details about Supporters of Attack on Iran's Embassy in Beirut

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has obtained credible evidence substantiating that a number of regional countries have played key role in supporting terrorists behind the recent terrorist attack on the country's embassy in Beirut, a senior legislator said on Sunday.

“According to the credible information that we have obtained, the countries that are leading reactionary moves in the Persian Gulf, take the strategic role in this plot," Vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mansour Haqiqatpour told the Tasnim News Agency on Sunday.

He added that groups which are against the anti-Israel resistance movement and groups which are against Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movment were involved in the attack.

The Iranian lawmaker, however, said the Lebanese security organizations have identified the perpetrators of the terrorist attack and they seek to completely arrest all terrorists involved in the attack.

On November 19, twin explosions occurred around Iran's embassy in Beirut, killing more than 2 dozen people and injuring some 150 others. Iranian cultural attaché was also among the dead.

Haqiqatpour, along with other members of an Iranian parliamentary delegation, has recently returned from a trip to Lebanon following the terrorist incident.

Earlier, Secretary-General of Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah had accused Saudi Arabia of being behind last month's twin bombings that targeted the Iranian Embassy in Beirut.
