Iran's President, First VP Felicitate Russia on New Year

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In separate congratulation messages to Russian leaders, President Hassan Rouhani and his First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri felicitated the beginning of the New Year (2014).

In his message to President Vladimir Putin, President Rouhani expressed the hope that in 2014 the world nations would witness greater efforts for stronger solidarity, peace and stability all around the world and closer friendly ties among world nations.

He has also hoped for good health and success for the Russian president and further advancement and prosperity for his country.

In a similar message to the Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, the Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri, too, hoped for success and prosperity of the entire world nations, including the great Russian nation.

Iran and Russia signed two deals for boosting bilateral trade in February 2013 and since January 2012, Tehran and Moscow have been using the rial and the ruble in their trade exchanges, dropping the US dollar.
