Iran’s Air Defense Unveils Indigenous Missile System Simulators
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili on Tuesday unveiled two home-made simulators for Hawk and Skyguard air defense missile systems.
The simulators for Hawk and Skyguard missile systems, which have been designed and become operational by the Iranian local experts, have better characteristics in comparison with the actual systems, Brigadier General Esmaili told reporters in a ceremony to unveil the new products.
The commander also noted that the domestically-made simulators are capable of simulating the aerial targets of different classes, including various types of missiles, aircraft, choppers and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The new simulators’ components are manufactured inside the country, the commander added, and explained that they can create electronic warfare conditions and even assess the users' performance in confronting such kind of warfare.
On September 22, Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base displayed a number of its military hardware at the Armed Forces parade marking the beginning of the Sacred Defense Week in late September, which commemorates the braveries of the Iranian soldiers who fought in the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war and defended their country from enemy aggressions.
The hardware included Nebo mobile radar system, Kasta surveillance system, Matla' al-Fajr (Crack of Dawn) radar system, S-200 missile system, Hawk missile system, Shahab radar system and Skyguard defense system.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
