Consul General: Iran’s Exports to Russia Show 5% Increase

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s exports to Russia has witnessed a 5% increase, Russian Consul General in Iran's northern city of Rasht Maxim Baranov said Sunday.

Speaking at a meeting with Governor General of Iran’s Gilan province, Baranov said the northern province has played an important role in increasing exports to Russia.

He said Iran-Russia relations are of great significance, adding that the Russian Foreign Ministry supports closer relations between the two sides.

Earlier reports said Russia's economy minister will visit Iran in April to discuss a broad range of trade issues.

"The trip will probably happen - it won't be in March but at the end of April," Economy Minister Alexei Ulyukayev was quoted by state news agency RIA as saying.
