President Rouhani Invites Kuwaiti Emir to Visit Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent out an invitation to the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to visit Iran.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Tuesday passed on the invitation message from President Rouhani for Kuwait’s emir.

In a meeting with the Arab country’s leader, Amir Abdollahian pointed to the amicable and age-old relations between Tehran and Kuwait City, expressing the hope that cooperation between the two nations would yield desirable results very soon.

Iran’s ties with the neighboring countries, particularly with the Persian Gulf littoral states, are moving in the correct path thanks to the joint efforts, the Iranian deputy minister noted.

Al-Sabah, for his part, said he will definitely pay a visit to Iran at President Rouhani’s invitation, and contended that the all-out regional cooperation between Iran and Kuwait will serve the interests of the both sides.

Kuwait is a member of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council that has excellent, historical and developing relations with Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a visit to Kuwait last year, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah and two sides discussed ways to bolster mutual relations in all fields.
