Tractor Sazi Out of Asian Champions League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi of Tabriz football team was knocked out of the Asian Champions League after the Iranian team lost to At Ittihad 2-0 on Tuesday.

Tractor Sazi midfielder Milad Fakhroddiini was sent off in the 25th minutes at King Abdulaziz Sport City.

Abdulalfttah Asiri and Mukhtar Falata scored for the host in the 18th and 60th minutes. Fahad Al Muwallad also missed a penalty for At Ittihad.

“We lost because things changed for us when we were reduced to 10 men and before that everything was going good for us,” said Tractorsazi coach Toni Oliveira.

“We went into the match with difficult conditions which affected us and the players failed to cope well with the match,” the Portuguese added.

The UAE club, Al Ain, demolished its host Lekhwiya of Qatar 5-0 in another match of the group.

Al Ittihad moved up to nine points in Group C, one behind group leader Al Ain, who they will meet next week in the United Arab Emirates to decide top spot.

Tractor Sazi remained on five points as the team was eliminated at the group stage for the second year in a row. Tractor Sazi will host Qatari side Lekhwiya next week in Tabriz.
