Iran to Face Mozambique in Friendly Match on May 2

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's national football team is scheduled to play Mozambique on May 2, five days earlier than the match scheduled.

Iran was originally scheduled to play the African team on May 7 but Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, the general secretary of Iran Football Federation (IFF), said that the match will be held on May 2 since Iran will return from South Africa five days earlier.

The Iranian national football team is currently holding its pre-World Cup training camp in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The players will train in Tehran from May 8 to 11 and then travel to Austria to hold a training camp, Nabi said.

Iran has been pitted against Argentina, Nigeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2014 World Cup.

Carlos Queiroz’s men will face Trinidad and Tobago in their final preparation for the 2014 World Cup. The match will be played on June 8 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Iran will play Nigeria in Curitiba on June 16.
