President Calls for Closer Ties between Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina

TEHRAN (Tasnim) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the Islamic Republic is ready to boost ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina in all spheres.

The president made the remarks in a meeting with the Bosnian newly appointed ambassador to Tehran Edib Begovic on Tuesday during which he received the credentials of the envoy.

President Rouhani also emphasized that the level of economic, cultural and tourism relations between the two sides is not proper, expressing the hope that the mutual ties could be expanded in all possible areas, the Iranian president official website reported.

Begovic, for his part, vowed to do his utmost to further expand relations between the two countries during his tenure.

In August 2012, Iran and Bosnia signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism.

The two countries have been cooperating for years and this agreement was yet another major step in these countries relations, which opens the door for further investments and cooperation.
