Tehran Welcomes Enhancement of All-Out Ties with Manila
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani voiced the country’s eagerness to broaden ties with the Philippines on various fields.
President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Tehran is prepared to strengthen its relations with Manila in all fields, including the cultural relations.
He made the comments in a meeting with the Asian country’s new ambassador to Iran, Eduardo Martin Meñez.
President Rouhani made clear that Iran is ready to take every opportunity to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two nations.
Meñez, for his part, made a reference to the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Iran and the Philippines, and called for stronger cooperation between the two states.
The envoy also noted that he seeks to give a fresh impetus to Tehran-Manila economic ties during his tenure in the Islamic Republic.
In recent years, Iran and the Philippines have expressed their desire to work to enhance the existing friendly relations and to increase cooperation in various political, economic and cultural areas.
