AFC Champions League: Sepahan Fails to Advance
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Sepahan football team lost to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and failed to book a place in the next stage of the AFC Champions League.
On Tuesday, Sepahan lost to Al Hilal at the King Fahad International Stadium in Riyadh.
Nassir Al Shamrani scored the only goal of the match in first-half stoppage time.
Sepahan could have qualified for the next stage with a draw.
In another match of Group D, Al Sadd of Qatar beat Al Ahli of the UAE 2-1.
Al Hilal and Al Sadd advanced to the next stage with nine and eight points respectively. Sepahan and Al Ahli finished in third and fourth places with seven points.
