Iran's Persepolis Beats Azerbaijani Sumqayit in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian popular football team, Persepolis, defeated Azerbaijan’s Sumqayit in a friendly match on Thursday.
In the match held at the Persepolis training camp in Turkey, the Iranian team beat Azerbaijan’s premier league team 3-2.
Mohammad Abbaszadeh (twice) and Mehdi Taromi scored for Persepolis in the friendly.
Persepolis will play Dinamo Batumi of Georgia on Friday.
The Reds are preparing for the 14th edition of the Iran Professional League, which will kick off on July 31.
