Former Minister Divulges Link between Israel, ISIL

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s ex-intelligence minister said Israel has had a role in organizing the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Takfiri group to pursue its objectives across the region.

Israel’s move to build a concrete wall around Tel Aviv does not mean that the Zionists have stopped short of following a dream about conquest of a big territory from the Nile to the Euphrates, but they pursue that objective through other ways, including the formation of the ISIL, Hojatoleslam Heidar Moslehi told the Tasnim News Agency.

He also Iranian intelligence agencies had already raised the alarm over the formation of ISIL terrorist group.

“Warnings were even given (by Iran) in that regard, but those warnings have sometimes gone unheeded,” the former minister added.

Moslehi also touched upon on the latest ISIL terrorist activities in the region and said  foreign spy agencies such as the CIA, MI6 and Mossad take a hand in a series of incidents across the region under the patronage of rich regional states.

He also called for the Muslim nations’ vigilance in the face of Zionist plans, stressing that mass rallies on the International Quds Day can very well thwart those plots.

The International Quds Day is an annual event celebrated by Muslims on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan to express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The day was first suggested by the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in August 1979.
