Palestine Can Only be Freed via Muslims’ Unity: Iranian Envoy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Palestine and other occupied territories can be liberated only through Muslims’ unity and resistance against the Zionist regime, Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali said.
“Other alternatives are doomed to failure,” Fathali said during a ceremony on the occasion of the International Quds Day in the Iranian Embassy in Beirut on Friday evening.
Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, were among the senior officials attending the ceremony.
“The main strong point of the Muslim world is unity and the Zionist enemy and its supporters are trying their hardest to undermine the unity through hatching plots and creating religious, sectarian, ethnic and racial disputes,” Fathali stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the International Quds Day opens up a great opportunity for Muslims to defend legitimate and historical rights of Palestinians and “to remove the cancerous tumor of Israel from the region.”
