Deputy FM: Attack on Gaza Civilians Signifies Israel’s Frustration

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian deputy foreign minister said Israel’s brutal attacks on women and children in Gaza is a testimony to that regime’s failure to confront the resistance movement’s military power.

The Zionist regime of Israel’s resort to the widespread, targeted and organized slaughter of Palestinians, particularly women and children, shows Tel Aviv has been totally frustrated in the face of the power of resistance movement fighters, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement on Sunday.

The Iranian diplomat had arrived in Lebanon on Saturday for talks with the Lebanese officials on the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip following Israel’s military offensive.

During the meeting, Amir Abdollahian also briefed Seyed Hassan Nasrallah on the efforts made by the Iranian government over the past three weeks to stop the Israeli aggression in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Nasrallah, for his part, described the Palestinian resistance’s victory in Gaza as a clear sign of Israel’s weakness and as a prelude to Palestine’s final victory against the occupiers.

He also pointed to the massive pro-Palestine rallies in Iran and across the world on the International Quds Day, and stressed that Muslim unity could very well thwart the divisive plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.

On July 8, Israel launched air strikes on the Gaza Strip. After 10 days of bombardment of the enclave from the air and sea, the Israeli forces started a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

The death toll from nearly three weeks of Israeli onslaught on Gaza has exceeded 1,200 while around 6,000 others have been wounded.
