President Rouhani Congratulates Iranians on Eid al-Fitr

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Iranian nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

In his message, president Rouhani wished welfare for the Iranian nation and called for further unity and cooperation among the Iranian people.

He also pointed to the massacre of the innocent people of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military and ethnic wars fueled by the enemies of Islam in the Muslim world.

“Iran considers unity among Muslim nations, resorting to the Islamic principles and restoration of moral virtues as the only way to establish stability and security in the region,” said the Iranian president.

Also on Monday, president Rouhani in separate messages extended his felicitations to the heads of Islamic states as well as the secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.

President Hassan Rouhani extended his warmest wishes to all Muslim leaders and nations and called for further strengthening of friendship among the Muslim nations based on spirituality, moderation, rationalism, and refraining from violence and extremism.

“It is most unfortunate that in Ramadan which is the month of peace and mercy, the Muslims around the globe on one hand witnessed the ruthless aggression of the Zionist regime against innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip and on the other hand they saw terrorist acts in Iraq and Syria which are aimed at creating division and causing ethnic and sectarian conflicts,” said the president in his message to the heads of Islamic countries.

Rouhani also wished wellbeing for the OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani and prosperity for all the Muslim nations.
