More Reservists called Up as Israel Vows to Continue Gaza War

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel’s military was ordered to summon 16,000 more reserve soldiers amid the ongoing operation in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of reserve soldiers to 86,000, Israeli media reported on Thursday.

The order, issued early Thursday, followed Wednesday's five- hour meeting of the Israeli cabinet, which voted to push forward and increase the military operation in Gaza, as the onslaught on the defenseless people of Palestine entered its 24th day on Thursday.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 1,360 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,600 injured, most of them civilians, in the hostilities.

At least fifty-six Israeli soldiers have died and about 120 others wounded since the start of Israel's ground incursion into Gaza on July 17.

Meantime, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said the military will dismantle the Hamas tunnel network in the Gaza Strip "with or without a cease-fire," AP, reported.

"We are determined to complete this mission with or without a ceasefire," Netanyahu said before a cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv. "I won't agree to any proposal that will not enable the Israeli military to complete this important task for the sake of Israel's security."
