Atletico Madrid Lifts Spanish Super Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Atletico Madrid defeated star-studded city rival Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup thanks to an early goal from former Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzuki.
The Croat scored the only goal of the second leg after just 81 seconds to give La Liga champion Atletico a 2-1 aggregate victory over Copa del Rey winner Real at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday night.
The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.
Real was reduced to 10-man when Luka Modric was shown a second yellow card for his challenge on Cristian Rodriguez in stoppage time.
