Brazil Beats Iran in FIBA World Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Brazil basketball team beat Iran 79-50 in Group A of the 2014 FIBA World Cup on Sunday evening.

In the match held at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Granada, Brazil’s Alex Garcia scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

For Iran, Mohammad Jamshidi led the way in scoring with 13 points in just under 31 minutes.

Iran will play Serbia on Monday.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup starts on August 30 with 24 teams set to compete for the championship.
