Iran Youth Volleyball Team Departs for Asian Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-18 volleyball team left Tehran to take part in the 2014 Asian Youth Boys Volleyball Championship.
The competition will be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka from September 5 to 13.
Iran has been drawn in Pool B along with Qatar, India and Bahrain.
The Iranian outfit will face Qatar on September 6 in its opening match.
A total of 15 teams are divided into three pools of four teams and one pool of three.
Iran is the most-decorated team in the competition with six gold medals. South Korea, India and Chinese Taipei have won one time.
The top three teams of this championship will stand the chance of qualifying for the World Cup Youth Boys’ Volleyball Championship in 2015.
