Iran, Germany to Promote Joint Projects on Scientific Fields

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Germany are seeking to boost mutual cooperation in the area of science and technology, Iran’s Deputy Science Minster for International Affairs Hossein Salar Amoli announced on Monday.

“Given the high scientific and technological level of German universities, the country's good economic situation and the relations between Iran and Germany, cooperation with the country is of great importance to us,” Salar Amoli said.

He also pointed to a joint meeting between a number of officials from top Iranian and German universities in Tehran, and said the two sides are seeking to promote academic cooperation in various areas, including exchanging student and professor and implementing joint projects.

Earlier, in a Sunday meeting with Iran’s acting minister of science, research and technology in Tehran, the visiting President of the German Academic Exchange Service Professor Dr. Margret Wintermantel underlined Berlin’s keenness to develop scientific and academic cooperation with Iran.

She said German academic centers are prepared for extensive scientific and technological collaborations with the Iranian universities.

“We believe that scientific relations between countries help develop creativities and give us the power to have better understanding of one another,” said Wintermantel.
