Captain Marouf Says Volleyball Is Really Important for Iranians
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's national volleyball team captain Saeid Marouf said the Iranian people follow volleyball and the sport is really important for them.
“We have a good program of volleyball and people follow the matches and the performances of our national teams when we are away,” Marouf said.
“It all started in 2007 when we won the gold medal at the FIVB Youth World Championship in Mexico. So volleyball is really important in Iran,” headed.
Iran has been scheduled to face Germany and France in Pool G on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
The top teams from each pool will qualify for the semifinals round.
