President Calls for More Efforts to Preserve Iran's Cultural Identity

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s president called on the country's cultural officials to adopt proper policies that would uphold the country’s cultural identity thorough the promotion of Islamic-Iranian symbols in the society.

Speaking at a Tuesday session of Iran's Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution, President Hassan Rouhani urged the council to formulate policies that would further popularize the Islamic-Iranian emblems across the country.

Iranian officials have in recent years placed great emphasis on the procedures to counter the enemy’s cultural onslaught.

Back in January, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity for comprehensive plans to give serious attention to the promotion of Islamic lifestyle in the urban development.

The Leader had called on the authorities to pay special attention to Islamic lifestyle in the architecture of buildings in the capital city, noting that the city’s structure should create a good atmosphere for the Islamic lifestyle.

Pointing to the great impact of architecture and facade of the buildings on the contemporary lifestyle, the Leader insisted that the urban spaces and buildings should be designed in a way that the Islamic lifestyle could materialize more easily.
