France Was Better, Slobodan Kovac Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran volleyball coach Slobodan Kovac said that France deserved to win against his team.

Iran lost to France 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 19-25, 15-9) and could not book a place in the FIVB Men’s World Championship semi-final. Slobodan Kovac’s men will play France for the fifth position.

“Congratulations to French team. We tried to fight in the 1st set, but France was better,” Iran coach Slobodan Kovac said in the post match news conference.

“After the first set I wanted to give a chance to substitute players. We’re getting ready for the Asian games and I must have all 12 players ready.

“The day after tomorrow (Saturday) we have to be better. We played very well, but last two matches we didn’t play good volleyball,” he concluded.
