Iranian Parliamentary Delegation in Bangladesh to Attend Asia-Pacific Seminar

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian parliamentary delegation is in Bangladesh to attend a three-day seminar on "Ending the cycle of violence against girls in Asia-Pacific."

The seminar for Asia-Pacific parliaments opened on Tuesday and will run until September 25 in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The conference is being jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Parliament of Bangladesh.

During their visit to Dhaka, the Iranian parliamentarians are planned to hold talks with high-ranking Bangladeshi officials on issues of mutual interest.

“The seminar will focus on violence against girls and discuss an effective parliamentary response in terms of legislation and enforcement,” the official website of the Inter-Parliamentary Union announced.

“The Seminar will serve as a forum for exchanging experience and know-how. It will also enable participants to develop strategies and actions to effectively end violence against girls in the region,” the website stated.
