Asian Games: Talebian Bags Silver in Men's K1 1000m

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ahmadreza Talebian won the silver medal in the Men's K1 1000m Final on Monday in the 2014 Asian Games.

Ahmadreza Talebian snatched a silver medal after clocking 3:44.155 minutes at the Hanam Misari Canoe/Kayak Center in Incheon, South Korea.

“I am satisfied due to winning the silver medal. My Uzbek rival was better than me and won the gold medal,” Talebian said.

Alexey Mochalov from Uzbekistan claimed the gold medal with a time of 3:39.878 minutes.

Kazakhstan’s Yuriy Berezintsev seized the bronze medal with 3:48.711 minutes.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
