Iran’s Kayak Double Wins Silver in Asiad

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Kayak Double (K2) 1000m Men claimed a silver medal in the 17th Asian Games underway in Incheon, South Korea on Monday.

Iran’s team comprising Ali Aghamirzaei and Saeid Fazloula claimed a silver medal with a time of 3:23.590 minutes.

Yevgeniy Alexeyev and Alexey Dergunov from Kazakhstan managed to win the gold medal in the event, clocking 3:20.012 minutes.

Bronze medal went to Chinese team Zhenyu Li and Xinchang Sun with a time of 3:25.050 minutes.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
