Vahid Keshtkar Wins Iran’s First Gold in Asian Para Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Vahid Keshtkar claimed Iran’s first gold medal in the 2014 Asian Para Games on Sunday.

The swimmer won the gold medal in Men's 400m freestyle with a time of 5:06 minutes.

Another Iranian swimmer Mohammad Hossein Karimi won the silver with 5:03 minutes and Thailand’s athlete finished in third place.

“I didn’t think to win the gold medal. I dedicate my gold to my parent and my coaches, who helped me to win the medal,” Keshtkar said.

2014 Asian Para Games got underway in Incheon, South Korea from October 18 to 24. The games feature around 5,000 athletes competing across 23 sports.
