Iran’s President Vows to Bring to Justice Acid Attackers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani pledged that his administration will spare no effort to bring to justice anyone responsible for the recent “gruesome” acid attacks on women in the central city of Isfahan.

Speaking in a Sunday session of the cabinet in Tehran, President Rouhani reassured the nation that the perpetrator or perpetrators of the crime will be granted “no clemency”.

“Those who have committed this crime will face the maximum penalty,” he underlined.

The president has already assigned the three ministries of interior, intelligence, and justice the mission of probing into the case.

The reports of several cases of acid attacks on young women in Isfahan caused concern among people and several Iranian security and judicial officials have so far vowed to find and punish the attacker or attackers soon.
