Iran Eager for Closer Ties with Turkmenistan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President Hassan Rouhani on Monday congratulated Turkmenistan on the anniversary of its independence, hoping for the expansion of Tehran-Ashgabat relations in all fields.
In a message to Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President Rouhani congratulated the post-Soviet government and nation on the 23rd anniversary of independence, which falls on October 27.
Rouhani also expressed the hope that the friendly ties between Iran and Turkmenistan, which he said is based on good neighborliness, would enhance in the whole fields of mutual interest by determination on part of the two countries’ officials.
Independence Day in Turkmenistan is an annual national holiday observed on October 27, commemorating the country’s independence form the former USSR.
