Police Chief Warns of Plots to Wage Psychological War on Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s police chief cautioned on Tuesday that the adversaries seek to upset the psychological security in Iran by undermining the bonds between people and the establishment.

“Psychological security of the society is very important and the enemy also tries to take control of the bonds between the establishment and people, and this is a war,” Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam said in a Tuesday address to the National Civil Defense Conference, held in Tehran.

The police chief also described the civil defense tactics as a central plank of security creation in the society, and called for initiatives to promote civil defense standards through launching projects by the private sector.

Ahmadi Moqaddam further pointed to the growing menace of cyber threats in the contemporary world, adding that Iran’s police force has taken big strides to safeguard the country.

In recent months, Iran has stepped up efforts to secure both its military and civil infrastructure against cyber threats. The country has devised various civil defense strategies to protect the IT-related businesses and organizations.
