Iranian MP Blames Spread of Terrorism on Powers’ Meddlesome Policies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spread of terrorist groups across the Middle East region stems from the “meddlesome policies” adopted by the world powers, a senior Iranian lawmaker said.

In a meeting with Chairman of the External Relations Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Van Hang in Hanoi, Hossein Sobhani-Nia, the head of Iran-Vietnam parliamentary friendship group, pointed to the latest developments in the region, particularly Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, and said, "The foreigners’ interference (in the region) has been always the factor behind tensions and instability."

He emphasized that Iran’s principled policy is to help preserve security and tranquility in the region.

As regards Iran-Vietnam relations, Sobhani-Nia said that the two countries’ common stances on key international issues, like the opposition to (interference of) foreigners, the willing to establish lasting security and tranquility and to fight against terrorism, have provided a good platform for boosting political-international cooperation between the two countries.

The Vietnamese official, for his part, emphasized the importance of promotion of Tehran-Hanoi ties in diverse spheres, and called for the promotion of mutual cooperation between the two parliaments.

He also said that the two sides should utilize all opportunities and capabilities to expand relations in all areas.
