IRGC Commander Highlights Iran's Inspiring Role in Region

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A top IRGC commander said the Muslim nations of Iraq, Syria and Yemen have drawn inspiration from Iran’s Islamic Revolution to demonstrate their ability to thwart the plots hatched by the foreign arrogant powers.

Addressing a gathering of worshippers in the city of Qom on Friday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said the Islamic Revolution exerts a strong influence on the regional Muslim nations in the face of the foreign enemies.

“The politics as well as the military upheavals in Iraq are controlled by the followers of the Islamic Revolution, and the Americans are not able to manage developments in that country (Iraq),” Salami said.

The commander also highlighted Tehran’s support for Syria’s legitimate government since crisis started in the Arab country three years ago.

“In Syria, the Americans sought to topple the establishment to wipe away the axis of (anti-Israel) resistance (front), but that country (Syria)’s ruling system withstood (pressures) with the Islamic Republic’s support,” he added.

Pointing to the recent developments in Yemen, Salami noted, “Yemen’s revolutionaries, who were inspired by (the late founder of the Islamic Republic) Imam Khomeini’s thoughts, changed the situation in Yemen.”

“We are witnessing the awakening of Muslims in different parts of the Islamic world, and the arrogant powers’ plots against Muslims are ending in failure,” he explained.
