Persepolis Deserved to Win, Coach Derakhshan Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Persepolis coach Hamid Derakhshan said that his team deserved to win against Esteghlal.
Persepolis defeated its arch-rival Esteghlal 2-1 on Sunday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
“I respect Esteghlal but I have to say we deserved to win the match. Persepolis deserved to win since we had lots of chances,” Derakhshan said in the post match news conference.
“I am delighted for this win and I dedicate that to Persepolis’s fans. In football, you need to create the chance and we did our best against Esteghlal,” he added.
“We were not good in the first half but in the second half we changed our tactic and scored twice,” he said.
