UN Disarmament Chief Arrives in Damascus

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The United Nations disarmament chief arrived in Damascus on Saturday.

A senior UN disarmament official has arrived in Damascus to push for access to a suspected chemical weapons attack site for UN inspectors, who have been in the country for the past week, Aljazeera reported.

Angela Kane, the UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, did not comment to reporters on Saturday as she entered the Four Seasons hotel, which is located only a few miles away from the site of Wednesday's reported chemical-weapon attacks in the outskirts of the Syrian capital.

UN inspectors arrived in Damascus on a mission to investigate claims of use of chemical weapons.
