Irish Parliamentary Delegation Meets Iranian Speaker

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Irish parliamentarians, who are in Iran for official visit, met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani here in Tehran on Saturday.

The delegation, headed by Chairman of Irish Senate’s Foreign Policy Commission, arrived in Tehran this morning for 4-day official visit.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on different national, regional, and international developments.

They also conferred on issues of mutual interests and called for the further expansion of bilateral relations.

The delegation had earlier met with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, who invited the Irish lawmakers to Iran.

The Irish delegation is meanwhile scheduled to meet a number of Iranian cabinet members, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif.

The visit came after several European parliamentary delegations, including a British parliamentary delegation, visited Iran during the past few weeks.
