Tehran to Host Iran-South Korea Cultural Relations Conference


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The second conference on cultural cooperation between Iran and South Korea is slated to kick off in Tehran on Tuesday.

Jointly organized by the Iranology Foundation, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies (IHCS), and Seoul-based Myongji University, the second edition of the conference will concentrate on the theme of Iranian and Islamic studies in South Korea.

A number of academic, political and cultural figures including Head of the Iranology Foundation Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Khamenei, South Korean Ambassador to Tehran Song Woong-Yeob, and Head of the ICRO Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman will address the opening ceremony of the event tomorrow afternoon.

The first edition of the conference took place in Seoul last year following the establishment of the Iran-South Korea Cultural-Economic Chamber.

It is aimed at helping the expansion of scientific and cultural relations between the two countries and enhancement of Iran and South Korea studies.
