Iran Not to Step Back from Nuclear Rights: MP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian lawmaker emphasized that the country’s negotiators in nuclear talks with six world powers will never retreat from the Iranian nation’s rights.

“Our country’s negotiating team will not step back from the Iranian nation’s nuclear rights in the upcoming talks and is also determined (to reach) their positive goals,” Ebrahim Aqamohammadi, a member of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told the Tasnim News Agency on Monday.

The Iranian nation is vigilant and will not give in to pressures by the Western powers, the Iranian lawmaker reiterated.

“The whole world knows that the Iranian nation does not aim to misuse its nuclear program,” he said.

The Iranian lawmaker also lashed out at the self-proclaimed advocates of human rights, including the US, Britain, and the occupying regime of Israel saying their nuclear arsenals pose major security threats to the world.

“Wherever insecurity exists, they have a hand in it, but then they consider Iran as a threat to humanity with their false illusions and try to isolate Iran through exploiting their numerous media outlets,” he added.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) are scheduled to hold a fresh round of high-profile talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna on July 2 with the aim of drafting a comprehensive deal to resolve the decade-long standoff over Tehran's peaceful nuclear energy program.
