Iran Volleyball Coach Madani Dies at Age 43


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran volleyball coach Hossein Madani died of liver disease on Friday.

Madani passed away at the age of 43 in Tehran’s Laleh Hospital.

He was diagnosed with lung and liver disease ahead of the 2014 FIVB World League and failed to accompany the team in the competitions, where the Iranian team finished fourth behind US, Brazil and Italy.

Madani, who was head coach of the Iranian volleyball team from 2008 to 2010, was appointed as Slobodan Kovac’s assistant in March.
