Iran’s Mojtaba Karimfar Seizes Bronze in Asian Games


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Greco-Roman wrestler Mojtaba Karimfar from Iran claimed a bronze medal on Wednesday in the 2014 Asian Games underway in Incheon, South Korea.

Karimfar beat Azat Beishebekov 3-0 and claimed the bronze medal.

“I am happy to win the bronze medal however I could have won the gold medal but refereeing decisions went against me,” Karimfar said.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
