Greco-Roman Wrestler Bouyeri Wins Bronze in Asiad

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestler Payam Bouyeri seized the bronze medal in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

Bouyeri defeated Turkmenistan’s Atayev Amanaly 4-0 in the men's Greco-Roman 75kg at the Dowon Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea.

“I was not supposed to participate in the games and I am happy because of winning the bronze medal. I could have won the gold medal,” Bouyeri said.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
