Official: IRGC Holding Military Drills on Schedule

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps public relations department said the IRGC routinely stages the military exercises according to a timetable.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Sunday, General Ramezan Sharif said the IRGC’s wargames, mostly held by the aerospace division or the naval forces, take place according to a regular timeline.

Some of the wargames might be even now underway, he added, saying the drills are only made public at the discretion of the country’s high-ranking security organizations.

Elsewhere in his comments, General Sharif praised the performance of the IRGC in carrying out a whole host of construction projects in the country, and lashed out at the enemies for waging a “psychological war” on the IRGC.

“Such a psychological operation by the enemy is due to the IRGC’s performance in the Fordow (nuclear) site and its rigid structure.”

He added that the safe structure of the nuclear site makes it immune to any assault, meaning that enemies are unable to destroy it.

Located in the central province of Qom, Fordow is buried deep underground to protect it against any enemy attacks.
