Iran Suffers Third Defeat at Asian Women’s Junior Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran suffered a narrow 26-25 defeat to Uzbekistan in the 2015 Asian Women’s Junior Handball Championship on Saturday.

Iran has already lost to Japan and China in the competition.

The team has been scheduled to face Tajikistan on Monday.

The 13th edition of Asian Women's Junior Handball Championship opened in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on August 6, and will finish on August 14.

A total of seven teams, including host Kazakhstan, Iran, South Korea, China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Japan are competing in round-robin format. The top five teams will advance to the IHF Women's Junior World Championship in Russia.
