The allied forces said on Sunday that they have now managed to capture at least six militants over the weekend, after they took three other rebels prisoner Saturday.

The Syrian army and their Lebanese allies pushed deeper into the town of Zabadani, reaching Barada Street, located in the southwestern part of the city.

Seven militants were killed in the offensive, which saw allied forces wrest control over the Hay al-Zahra neighborhood, according to the security source.

The source also told The Daily Star that two Hezbollah fighters were killed in the past 24 hours, bringing the party’s total death toll to 29 since the military campaign was launched in July.

Since last week, Hezbollah and its Syrian army allies have stepped up their offensive against Syrian militant groups holed up in city, located just 8 kilometers from Lebanon’s eastern border.
