Zarif Urges New Financial Mechanism to Facilitate Iran-Pakistan Trade

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced Tehran’s preparedness to boost economic ties with Pakistan, and underlined the necessity for a new banking mechanism between the two sides to facilitate trade.

Speaking at a meeting with Chairman of Pakistan Senate Raza Rabbani in Islamabad on Thursday, the Iranian minister said it is necessary to create a new banking mechanism between the two sides and prepare ground for better facilitations of trade for businessmen and public and private companies.

He also said Iran is prepared to exchange parliamentary delegation with its eastern neighbor.

Also at the meeting, Pakistani senator Rabbani pointed to the conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers, saying Islamabad is so pleased to see such great achievement.

He further said the two countries enjoy good capacities in the fields of economy, confronting organized crimes and terrorism, energy and gas pipeline.

Zarif arrived in Islamabad on Thursday morning and met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and  his counterpart Sartaj Aziz.
