Iran’s FM to Visit China on Tuesday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay a visit to China on September 15 for political talks, China's foreign ministry said on Friday.

Zarif will visit Beijing at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at a news conference.

The top Iranian diplomat is expected to hold talks on the finalized text of a lasting nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) and on efforts to enhance Tehran-Beijing relations.

Iran and the six powers on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.

Back in July, Chinese President Xi Jinping told US President Barack Obama that China would work with the US and others to ensure the implementation of the agreement.
