TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Chinese capital city of Beijing on Monday.

The Iranian foreign minister is expected to discuss the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and world powers on July 14 in the Austrian city of Vienna as well as ongoing efforts to boost the two Asian countries’ bilateral ties.

This is the first visit of Zarif to China after the nuclear deal with Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).

Upon his arrival, Zarif was welcomed with the officials at the Chinese foreign ministry and Iran's Ambassador to Beining Ali Asqar Khani.

Also, Bangladesh will be the next destination of the top Iranian diplomat and his delegation.
