Iran’s Judiciary Chief: Europe’s Migrant Crisis Rooted in Western Supports for Terrorism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani described certain Western countries’ supports for terrorist groups in the Middle East as the root cause of the current migrant crisis in Europe.

“The recent migrant crisis that has engulfed the Europeans and Westerners is the outcome of the West’s support for terrorists,” Amoli Larijani said in a Monday meeting with a number of senior judicial officials in Tehran.

“We are witnessing that the very countries that supported terrorist groups are now being crippled and desperate with the influx of thousands of migrants,” he noted.

The judiciary chief further expressed the hope that European countries and the US would take steps towards resolving the crisis through addressing its root causes.

He went on to say that the West should stop providing financial and military supports for terrorist and extremist groups in the region.

Europe’s recent migrant crisis has been branded as the most serious refugee crises the world has seen since 1948 after World War II.

Record numbers of people, many of them fleeing war and conflict in the Middle East, continued to pour into Europe this month.
