German Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper of Refugee Child

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – German police Thursday arrested a man suspected of kidnapping a four-year-old refugee, and said they found the body of a child in his car.

"The identity of the child as well as the circumstances surrounding the death will be clarified in an autopsy carried out today," said Berlin police in a statement.

A Bosnian boy named Mohamed had been missing since October 1, when his mother took him to Berlin's main refugee registration center which receives hundreds of asylum seekers daily.

Police subsequently issued CCTV footage of a man leading the child, who had a stuffed toy in one hand, away, AFP reported.

The suspect, 32, is being questioned by police.
