Iran to Enter Nuclear Trade: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s president on Sunday hailed the outcomes of a lasting nuclear agreement with six world powers, saying the deal would open the door for Iran to enter the international nuclear market and use advanced centrifuge machines for enriching uranium.

Iran is going to enter the nuclear trade in the international market under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to the opening ceremony of the 21st Press Exhibition, held in Tehran on Sunday.

He said the nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) will also allow Iran to exchange uranium hexafluoride (a compound used in the uranium enrichment process that produces fuel for nuclear reactors) with yellowcake -a type of uranium concentrate powder.

The president also noted that Iran will start to inject UF6 gas into the new generation of IR-8 centrifuges as soon as the nuclear deal takes effect and begin to use the advanced machines for laboratory-scale uranium enrichment.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as the P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a 159-page nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.

Afterwards, the 15-memebr United Nations Security Council passed a resolution that endorsed the JCPOA.

The agreement was officially adopted on October 18, and is going to take effect in a few weeks.
